Hi everyone, I hope you are all having a lovely New Year’s Eve so far! I’ve spent the day chilling out and relaxing at home with the dog (check out my insta (jenok)for some cute puppy pics ☺️) and I’m just about to get ready for a night out with the other half and our friends to ring in the new year! We’re heading to a Studio 54 night in town… so excited… I love a bit of disco!
Before I head off I wanted to do a short post to sign off for 2016. For some reason 2016 has been a crazy year for most people and I definitely did not escape the madness! For me personally 2016 has been one of the best years I can remember. I feel as though I really worked on myself and my well being this year, achieved a lot and far exceeded my own expectations. It’s been a year of change, not massive changes but a series of small changes that have made the biggest difference to my life!
One of the scariest things I did this year was start this blog. That might seem ridiculous but something like this is way out of my comfort zone. I’m not sure what made me do it in the first place. But I did it and it’s has contributed to a number of positive things this year. I feel the blog has let people get to know me a bit better, and has given me an outlet to chat about things I’m interested in. Writing ‘The Birthday List’ blog post is one of the best things I’ve done this year. Goal setting is not something I have done before but it has proven to be a very worthwhile task. I have ticked so many things off the list already that I probably would have let slip on by had I not written them down and posted them on the blog. It’s a birthday list which is a to-do list before I’m 30 so I still have time to complete it but I may add a few things to it after I do an update on it in January!
Becoming a regular gym-goer and losing more weight through SlimmingWorld this year has been amazing for my confidence. I don’t mean in a cocky way or at least I hope it doesn’t seem that way. But I feel good in my own skin, and in turn my own mind. It’s not to say that losing weight is the key to happiness but it helps when you can look in the mirror and be happy with what you see, wear the clothes you feel your best in or feel confident walking into a room. These small pieces of self confidence have allowed me to push myself further, make bigger plans and follow them through!
2017 is set to be a big year for me… I’m getting married so lots of excitement ahead! Other than that I have Glastonbury and EP to look forward to along with some other gigs and I’m getting some new tattoos. There’s plenty more in the works too so lots to keep me entertained!
If there are any words of wisdom I can pass on for 2017 it’s be your best self, write down your goals, and set the wheels in motion to achieve them! Be bold and make your own luck and stop waiting for life to happen… this is it!
Happy New Year everyone, I hope it’s your best yet!
